Advert Analysis: The Wombats - The Modern Glitch

This is another example of the band that also have a big title of the band on their advert, again, showing that it's their name to the audience so they get a better understanding of who they are. The style of the writing also kind of foreshadows what their music is going to be like as this font type seems quite childish almost as there are parts which seem to be in capitals and others which are smaller. The fact that the same font has been used all throughout this advert implies consistency through the album. I think it's quite a useful effect when doing this as it keeps it all the same and not all over the place.

The colour scheme of this advert is quite bright and youthful, resembling the band. Having researched multiple band adverts, I can honestly say that many of them have chose colours which have resembled the band members themselves. However, the colour blue implies depth and stability. It's considered beneficial to the mind and body, showing what The Wombats want to do for their audience. The addition of the colour white, the border around the image, makes it stand out a whole lot more as it contrasts really well, I feel that these two colours are successful themselves but when put together, it makes the page, or in this case advert, pop.

This image in the advert seems to be off a bunch of people holding an image of what looks like a sunset standing/sitting on the beach. There also seems to be another hand holding the photo of the people holding photos giving off the effect that the image is actually an image, and not reality. I really like this as it's very unique and could have a really strong meaning behind it. One of the meanings that I think it could mean, is relating to memories and how the band influences their audience by showing their lives to them. This is something that a lot of bands do, but whilst doing this, they're normally on the front cover of the advert, looking away from the camera. So to see an image of multiple people holding images seems quite strange, yet very remarkable.
