digipak analysis: the 1975

This album is The 1975 by The 1975 and is a very dark and basic digipak.  It shows a light up box with "The 1975" lit up which looks good, this would be on the front and then on the back they have the back of the box with the songs on the back which shows the album digipak to be quite cyclical.  The front and back of the album are plain and simple, not showing off too much which is quite an indie style where they are just there to perform and not to show off at all.  The only bi difference between the front and back of the digipak is the font.  The 1975 font on the front is out there and quite eye catching which is what the band would have wanted however, the back is quite simple and makes it easy to read.
The inside cover shows a lot of companies involved with the production of the album which is typically found on the inside cover of a digipak making it conventional.  It is also quite plain and minimalist also showing the band's militaristic style and conventions they are tying to portray.
The CD itself is the most plain part of the digipak which is a grey CD with The 1975 is black.  There isn't even any white to break it up a bit like the rest of the digipak does.  This shows that they don't need to have an out there CD as people will still listen to them and follow their music.
For our digipak we won't quite follow this digipak as it's very basic and plain.  We are doing an indie band but would aim to have some colour on there as it would look better and wouldn't be as boring.  We may not have the band on the front of the digipak thou as not many other band's digipaks do but we will have more colour and make it simple as well.
