This advert is promoting You me at six's album 'Hold me Down'. Instead of having the name of the band on the top of the advert, this band have come away from the original conventions that album adverts normally have, and have put their names of both the band name and the name of the album towards the middle of the page. This just means that it's not going to be the first thing the audience see's when looking at the advert, as the image is at the top, that being what we see first, as it's the way we read/see things, from left to right, top to bottom.
This is not something that we plan to do for our advert, as we feel as though following the conventions is a lot more successful that not following it, as it comes as a risk as sometimes not all bands can pull it off.
The colours from the image in this advert is bright and colourful, therefore catching the eye. This takes the attention away from the dreary black background. Looking closely at the image, we can clearly see an eagle, or some type of animal flying above the clouds. This can then link back to the name of the album 'Hold me down' meaning that the band need their fans to be able to do what they do for a living.
By promoting the date that the album is released in a different colour to the rest of the advert, yet matching part of the image, really helps it stand out, bringing the audience's eyes away from the image and to the release date.
This is something that we plan to do as we want the name of the band to really stand out as well as the name of the album. We feel as though we should do it in the same colour but use a different font as this way the audience can establish the name of the band easily.
The use of the faded white rings on the black background just makes the advert come together and doesn't make it seem dull. However, by having small amounts of colour around the name of the band, as well as the image, it makes it look a lot more abstract, therefore making it come to life and look effective.
By having visual effects and other special effects, it gives off a really nice 3D effect, making the whole advert pop and gives it a whole lot of depth.
There is a consistant theme of keeping the same font through the advert as both the name of the band, and the release date are in the same font. On the other hand, the font of the album is completely different. This allows the audience to differentiate the band from their album, also giving the advert a nice and neat look to it.
