it then shows an extreme long shot of the girl standing next to the cross on a cliff showing that the cross has a huge part to play in this girl's life. It is then followed by the man in the car getting angry.
the man and the girl then find eachother and the music finally starts 1:30 into the video.
the band are then established after a series of short takes on some more religious symbols like the girl in church. We don't fully see the band's faces yet though leaving some mystery to the viewer.
The narrative takes up most of the video so far with just very short takes of the band being shown with no master shots yet. it has some extreme close ups of some of the instruments specifically the drums. The editing of the video is done very musically and to the beat and tempo of the song which looks good. It speeds up at parts where the song does and slows down in other parts.
This is the first time we see the band all together during the video. The band have some structure to them and look more professional than the Catfish and the Bottlemen. They are dressed smart and have chosen their location carefully matching to the setting of the music video, keeping consistency.
At the end of the video, the narrative and performance link together as the woman is taken to see the band but it is done very discretely never really showing them together just a shot where you can see the guitar and the woman and then followed by some eye line matches.
the camera quality used in the video looks quite old and rustic however this could be because the video was 8 years old or could have been a conscious effort. The colour scheme is consistent between the narrative and performance which looks good as well as having about a 50:50 of performance:narative.
For our music video we will also be doing about 50:50 performance:narative as this works the best for us. We will be using better cameras that look like they aren't as rustic as these ones as it doesn't work as well for us but we may also take some of the other ideas like not having a master shot so close to the start and only shoing parts of the band at fist building mystery and suspense.
