We filmed narrative footage for our video in the Whitley Bay area, specifically at the amusements and sea front next to Spanish City. We filmed around 5pm to 6pm as it's November it gets dark really early. Stated before that we would Have Ellie Naseby and Chris Charlton.
Success
The footage of Chris and Ellie being a convincing couple as we have had critiques of our classmates that their relationship wasn't convincing at didn't have an impact of the plot of the narrative. With the amusements in the video we can see them spending time together as a couple to build there relationship. Then with the star gazing footage we can see the more intimate side of the relationship when they haven't started arguing.
Then with the settings being contrasts, the amusements being full of colour and life to the contrast of the calm sea front where they are relaxed and having more intimate moments as a couple. While they're having fun with the games in the amusements but they're not as in focus with each other compared to when they're star gazing on the sea front.
Set Backs
The main set back was technical with the some of the equipment, specifically the tripod with the missing piece that allowed us to connect the camera on to the tripod. So we had to film hand held and hold the camera very still so the footage doesn't have shakes by the person who filmed the footage.
Another set back was the time of year because it's later on in the year the sun sets a lot earlier than we had expected it to be, luckily we had two LED lights with us, so we could film in the dark if the street lamps weren't light enough that the camera wouldn't pick up anything.
The final set back we faced was our lack of research. Such as not knowing when the library closed where we wanted to film in, as when we got there it was closed so we couldn't film in there. Along with knowing when the sun sets as well so we know when could film during the day plan out what we want to do on days that we film footage. So it means we don't have to rush everything when the sun is setting in the evening.
